Palmer Edges Lions to Make Semis

The Palmer College rugby team knew they were in for a difficult time. Having lost to the Chicago Lions in league play in Chicago, the Dragons were fully aware than Chicago might trip them up in Sunday’s quarterfinals. And it almost happened.

Palmer, Lions on to QFs

Palmer College gave up the first try, but turned things around after that and absolutely throttled the Norfolk Blues to the tune of 57-10 Saturday in the Men's DI Club Round of 16.  Led by their back row of former Penn State star Auggie Manelick, James Fitzgerald, and former UW-Whitewater star Ryan Duklas, Palmer scored five first-half tries, including three in an eight-minute spree, to earn a spot in Sunday's Quarterfinals.  Duklas did the most damage, scoring four tries from No.

Mystic, Metropolis Advance

Two very close games punctuated the second bracket in the men’s DI club playoffs, as Metropolis edged PAC 33-26, and Mystic River squeaked by the Atlanta Renegades 17-16. A young Mystic River team did just enough to get by the Atlanta Renegades and make the quarterfinals of the Men’s DI club playoffs.
