Flanker Michael Kenyon slammed over the try line in the 28th minute and Malifa’s kick was true which further gave Glendale RFC the dominance they were enjoying in the first half with a solid score on the board of 24-0. Siegel dotted down again for his second try of the match as the half time whistle blew and Glendale RFC had the lead at 31 to Santa Monica Rugby Club’s 0.
Santa Monica came out in the second half like a new team with much more focus and commitment. Shortly after Glendale RFC’s scrum half, Daryl Furlong, scored a try off of a well executed grubber in the 42nd minute, Santa Monica embarked on ten minutes of intense play which saw Captain and No. Mystic, Metropolis Advance Two very close games punctuated the second bracket in the men’s DI club playoffs, as Metropolis edged PAC 33-26, and Mystic River squeaked by the Atlanta Renegades 17-16.
A young Mystic River team did just enough to get by the Atlanta Renegades and make the quarterfinals of the Men’s DI club playoffs.
