USA Rugby CEO Nigel Melville said during a November edition of Ruggamatrix America he'd like to have the search for the next Men's National Team head coach wrapped up by Christmas.
USA captain Todd Clever helped rugby pull a double as www.international-athlete.com named him men’s International Athlete of the Year, following their pick of CJ Hildreth as their women’s athlete of the year.

Because the single largest sporting event of 2011 was the Rugby World Cup, which brought together athletes from around the globe to compete in cities in New Zealand throughout the months of September and October 2011, International Athlete has chosen to honor rugby players as both our featured “Male and Female Athletes of the Year.”
With that in mind, the best choice for a male athlete to be featured is USA’s Eagles current captain, Todd “Jackhammer” Clever.
With American players at the height of their overseas seasons, it’s worth checking in on some other players who have been playing pro.
When last we checked Nic Johnson was weighing some options, and could well decide to remain in the USA.
Friday USA Rugby officially posted the job opening for the Men’s National 15s team coach.
In a way, it’s a little funny because USA Rugby has been fielding job applications for the past six months, as coaches, mostly from overseas, were anticipating Eddie O’Sullivan not re-applying once his contract was up.
There are some US-based likely candidates, also.
