Coach Happy to See Shore Hold On
OMBAC gave Belmont Shore quite a scare Saturday in a SoCal DI league match that ended 31-26 for the Long Beach club. Shore Head Coach Ray Egan wasn’t bothered by the tightness of the game – which ended with OMBAC getting held up in-goal under the posts, a try that, had it been scored, would likely have won the game for the San Diegans.
Culture Shift Behind SD State Win
San Diego State rebounded from their first league loss of the season two weeks ago to soundly defeat rivals University of San Diego 54-17 Saturday in Pacific Mountain West conference play. Head Coach Matt Hawkins was pleased with the win, especially given that his squad had been in Las Vegas the week before playing 7s. While USD and UC Santa Barbara are certainly different teams, SD State is different now, too. “The core group of guys that traveled to Las Vegas a week ago really learned a lot and have taken it upon themselves to really get our team unity and culture to where it needs to be,” said Hawkins.

St Mary's College put Olympic Club to the sword Saturday in a friendly for both teams, beating the men's club 53-10 in a solid display.

Black Rooster Celebrates 40th Anniversary

The Black Rooster, one of the oldest pubs in DC, has been involved with rugby since NOVA was George Mason Rugby. The Rooster is home to a lot of history and great memories for DC area rugby. NOVA Rugby is proud to celebrate four decades of service, and here's to another 40 years!

Budweiser is the co-sponsor of the event and will provide complimentary Bud and Bud light draft Thursday 10/14 and Friday 10/15 5-6 pm while it lasts. Many other specials are available all evening!
